We run a herd of 10-15 pastured black Angus beef cattle. We finish several animals each year for sale as beef sides or hamburger – contact us for availability and questions.
Our cattle are all free range and eat grass most of the year, while receiving grass hay during the winter. We supplement with free choice minerals to offset nutrient deficiencies in our grass (particularly selenium), and they receive a small “treat” of grass pellets each week. Our cattle receive no hormones or antibiotics though we do inoculate our steers against tetanus due to its prevalence in the area because of the local deer population.
Beef is available as 1/4 split sides (cuts from the front and back of the side), 1/2, and whole. We also do “hamburger herd shares” of ground beef.
